L.E. (Ed) Shultz...Former President and CEO of Smith & Wesson

Ed Shultz, a registered professional engineer, led Smith & Wesson to the forefront of gun safety while creating a firestorm of controversy. Citing the business sense it made, he signed a 25-page safety agreement with federal, state and municipal governments in March, 2000. Reaction from other gun makers, owners, distributors and dealers was negative but Mr. Shultz stated that he was attempting to avoid "extinction by lawsuit".
