Jack Lechner

Jack Lechner...Film Producer and Television Connoisseur

Jack Lechner has worked in the New York, Los Angeles and London film making communities. He was instrumental in the development and production of such movies at The Crying Game, Good Will Hunting, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Little Voice, Brassed Off, In Too Deep, Shallow Grave, Guinevere, Bhaji On The Beach, and Velvet Goldmine.

In February 2000, Jack joined @radical.media as head of its motion picture division. @radical.media is a global media company that produces commercials as well as content for film, television, theater, and the Internet. From April 1996 to June 1999, Jack was Executive Vice President for Production and Development at Miramax Films. In that capacity, he was responsible for supervising the development of all Miramax productions, as well as seeking out and reviewing outside submissions.

Prior to that, he was a vice president of original programming for HBO-NYC. While there, he was involved in the development and production of The Affair and Deadly Voyage, both in conjunction with the BBC, and also developed the docudrama, Hostile Waters. Prior to 1996, Jack was second in command at Film on Four, the feature film division of UK broadcaster Channel 4 (1991 to 1994); VP for Development at Art Linson Productions (1990); Director of Development at Dirty Hands Productions (1988-1989); and, a creative executive at Columbia Pictures.

Jack Lechner graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in Film Studies. In 1988, he set an unbreakable record for losing the most money in the final round of Jeopardy--but he made up for it twelve years later by winning $125,000 on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. He is married to Sam Maser, a writer and film programmer who runs the First Look film series at the Tribeca Film Center.
