Michael
Loman ...Your Guide to Sesame Street
Executive
Producer, Sesame Street
11-Time Emmy Award Winner
Instructor, Yale University
Michael's
Background
There are life lessons to be learned from Sesame Street.
Although the target audience is 2-4 years of age, the
key element has always been how Sesame Street communicates
its message. No one does it better. Even when dealing
with subjects that tend to overwhelm little children
(i.e. Mr. Hoopers death), the show offers clear
insight in an unfrightening manner. All scripts are
carefully reviewed by the VP of Curriculum at Sesame
Workshop to ensure the proper balance between entertainment
values and education. The curriculum is drawn from a
forty page statement of educational goals created by
pre-school experts.
