Since its founding
in 1983, FCG has had more Democratic candidates elected
to the House of Representatives than any other firm. Clients
have included Geraldine Ferraro, Paul Simon,
David Bonior, Dave Obey and Nita Lowey.
In 1996 and 1998,
Fenn & King was chosen as the lead media firm for the
Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, producing
ads that helped win back seats for the Democrats. In Campaign
2000, Peter Fenn was an advisor to Gore for President
and served as surrogate spokesperson on cable news programs.
Fenn Communications Group has also represented a
number of Fortune 500 companies. Increasingly, FCG
has been assisting clients such as Lockheed-Martin,
Purdue Pharma, 3M, The National Association
of Realtors and the Humane Society of the U.S.
to provide strategic communications advice and produce image
and issue advertising.
Prior to founding
the firm, Mr. Fenn was the first Executive Director of the
political action committee, Democrats for the 80s,
founded by Pamela Harriman and then Governor Bill
Clinton. He also served on the staff of the Senate Intelligence
Committee and as Washington Chief of Staff for Senator
Frank Church. In 1983, Mr. Fenn founded and was the
first Executive Director of the Center for Responsive
Politics.
His writing and
producing have earned him "Pollie" Awards
from the American Association of Political Consultants;
Telly Awards; Vision Awards; Silver Microphone
Awards for radio; and, the Direct Marketing Association
Award for Best Direct Mail in the Presidential Campaign
for Senator Paul Simon. Mr. Fenn was also selected
by Campaigns & Elections Magazine as a "Rising
Star" as a political media consultant and as a
"Mover and Shaker" in 1995.
Peter Fenn appears
frequently as a political commentator on the major networks
and on CNN, FOX News, CNBC and MSNBC. He has also served
as a regular substitute co-host for Paul Begalia on Equal
Time with Oliver North and co-hosted CNN's Crossfire
and Spin Room.
Peter Fenn earned
a B.A. from Macalester College. He has been President
of the Alumni Association and is currently a Trustee of
the college.
Mr. Fenn has
an M.A. in International Relations from the University
of Southern California. He teaches courses in Presidential
Politics, Strategy and Message as well as Campaign Advertising
at George Washington University's Graduate School of
Political Management.
