ABOUT
REBECCA KNIGHT
Rebecca Knight is a journalist and Assistant Analysis
Services Editor of The Financial Times of London.
She is also a relatively recent college graduate (high
honors, American Government, Wesleyan University, 1998)
and much has transpired since she left the supposedly
“safe” environment of higher education.

She
is currently in her third job since college (after The
New York Times in Washington, DC and The Financial
Times in New York City) and has already appeared on CNNfn
and ABC World News Now several times as well as having
her columns featured in USA Today, The New York Times and
various other newspapers.
THE
PROGRAM
Based on the tips found in her book, A CAR, SOME CASH,
AND A PLACE TO CRASH (Rodale Press, 2003), called “...a
roadmap for the newly graduated…a super book for 22 year-olds.”
by USA Today, Rebecca speaks to the needs of those entering
“Real Life.” Chocked full of information about subjects
that are sometimes difficult for persons in their early 20s
(first job, first car, first apartment, finding a doctor,
how and where to invest, social issues, etc), she tells
it like it is. Since Rebecca is not far removed from all
of this herself, she is able to entertain while educating
through a series of anecdotes about her own efforts in these
endeavors. And, she directs her audiences to the best sites
on the Web so that each attendee can personalize their search
and make the most beneficial decisions.
The
bottom line is that audiences need this information, prefer
not to waste time finding it and will benefit from a concise
