Stacy Bannerman

Rarely have I had (speakers) who were able to cover topics as comprehensively. The presentation was the most outstanding moment of the course...she spoke eloquently and passionately. The motivational effect made an impact.
Dr. Donna Langston, Minnesota State University, Mankato, MN

An impeccable genius for inspiring a sense of vision, creativity and commitment...superior abilities as a gracious facilitator and master teacher. The undergraduate course in social justice education and diversity leadership [helped] create mental awakenings for people. She is a warm, nurturing sun in a frozen, barren world. Her creativity and passion are contagious...a sterling manifestation of human excellence.
Dr. Raymond Reyes, Vice President for Diversity, Gonzaga University, Spokane, WA

A dedicated and professional visionary and force in the community who champions the future of our social services infrastructure using the principles of restorative justice. Her ability to create and implement programs is unlike anyone I have seen in twenty years of business.
Ed Ciochetto, Program Director, Restoration Event, Minneapolis, MN

While most of the publicity center[ed] on speaking out against the Aryan Nations and hate, the We are One television and print ads were powerfully focused upon creating and upholding the vision of what we want-human rights for all. By partnering with a local corporation, Stacy provided the creative support and secured all the financial backing for this project. I can honestly say that I have seen nothing of this caliber or unique vision achieved at any other time. The legacy of the 'We are One' campaign lives on as a monthly feature in the local Diversity magazine.
Vince Lemus, Human Rights Specialist, City of Spokane, WA

Stacy Bannerman presents a compelling and courageous case for racial healing and a new approach to criminal justice, based on her unique personal experiences on the frontlines of transforming prejudice. I found the idea of Restorative Justice (a community based alternative to incarceration) to be a powerful tool for social change, as it is based on forgiveness, accountability and restoring relationships.
Corinne McLaughlin, Co-author, Spiritual Politics and Executive Director, The Center for Visionary Leadership, Washington, D.C.

Single-handedly put together one of the most impressive community restoration projects that I have seen in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area, which encompasses over a million people. She grasps the essence of human dynamics and conflict resolution.
The Honorable Judge Jim Randall, Minnesota State Court of Appeals, Minnesota Judicial Center, St. Paul, MN

Dear Friend:

Perhaps our paths have crossed at some point, perhaps not. I am an actor
("M*A*S*H," "Providence") and have worked on behalf of human rights and
social justice here and abroad. As an opponent of the war in Iraq and co-founder of Artists United To Win Without War I've had the good fortune to meet many courageous, thoughtful and dedicated people whose experience has moved them to become involved in the urgent effort to find a way toward peace and reconciliation in today's world.

One such person is Stacy Bannerman, the Project Director of War Stories, an international multimedia project. We first met at the Fellowship of Reconciliation's National Conference, then again when I presented Military Families Speak Out with the prestigious Letelier-Moffitt Human Rights Award in Washington D.C. last month. The wife of a soldier in Iraq, Stacy is a member of MFSO and I was impressed with her passionate commitment to peace and human rights. She is channeling that passion in a very professional approach to a project that tells the human stories of war. The War Stories project will address the most critical issue of our times in a way that hasn't been done before and I am writing to encourage your support for it.

By putting a human face on the cost of war and helping others understand the immense toll it exacts from people just like you and me in countries all over the world, War Stories has the power to engage the hearts and minds of millions and inspire them to work toward a nonviolent future.

I am proud to endorse the War Stories project and invite you to join me in supporting this very worthy, much needed initiative. Thank you for your commitment to creating a more peaceful world.

Sincerely,

Mike Farrell

Subject: Letter of Recommendation, Stacy Bannerman

Stacy Bannerman is truly an incredibly gifted communicator on many levels. Not only does she speak credibly as is referenced by her appearance on network news shows, but she also has the intellectual and analytical capabilities to be viewed as a gifted professional writer and journalist. Stacy has the ability to conduct rigorous investigations on multi-level complex topics, following up with one-on-one interviews getting to the heart of the issue with focus and sensitivity. The beauty of her work is that when her prep is done, she can take the conclusions and present them clearly, concisely, and in such a simplified compelling way that all levels of society can grasp the key points.

In addition, Ms. Bannerman's diverse professional background, appearance, contacts, and people skills permit her to literally "walk between the worlds" to get access to people and information not available to many journalists. Her chosen topic will open a silent though festering mental health wound for the public review and healing that is so desperately needed at this time in our national history.

Yours Sincerely,

Christina D. Rose
